Install Horopter's Command Line
Install horo, Horopter's command line, with Homebrew, from a release, or with Go.
horo is Horopter's command line: it records changes and reads them back. This guide is for
Horopter v0.14.2, and CI tests its Homebrew and release download steps against it.
Homebrew always installs the latest release; the release download and Go install the release
you choose.
Goal
horo on your machine: the latest release with Homebrew, or the release you choose with the
release download or Go.
Prerequisites
- macOS on Apple silicon, or Linux on x86-64 or arm64.
- For Homebrew, Homebrew; for the release download,
curl; for Go, Go.
Steps
Choose the Release
Set the release to install. Homebrew installs the latest release whatever this says, and its step checks the two match:
export HOROPTER_VERSION=v0.14.2Install horo
Install it from Horopter's tap, on macOS or Linux. The tap always installs Horopter's latest
release, whatever HOROPTER_VERSION says:
brew install horopter-dev/tap/horoCheck the horo Homebrew installed:
"$(brew --prefix)/bin/horo" --version
test "$("$(brew --prefix)/bin/horo" --version --format bare)" = "${HOROPTER_VERSION#v}"horo v...The last line checks that the latest release is the one HOROPTER_VERSION names. It prints
nothing either way, and exits with status 1 when they differ: set HOROPTER_VERSION to the
latest release, or install the release you want from the Release download tab. brew install
leaves an installed horo as it is; brew upgrade horopter-dev/tap/horo moves it to the
latest release.
Verification
horo answers from your PATH, with the release you chose:
horo --versionhoro v...
